Our family has a permanent campsite that we travel to as often as we can in the summer. We also have traveled and gone tent camping and our parents have an RV. So we get the best of all camping experiences. There is never a dull moment because we have family and friends that also stay where we have our camper. I have grown up in a camping family and can’t imagine not doing it. We have picked up tips and tricks along the way, amazing recipes, and even some failed recipes we were glad we were able to go to town to get pizza. We are passing along some of our knowledge to you.

Something that really came in handy while we were preparing this was a “plate cover.” It kept all of the flies and bugs off of our plates and our ingredients. We didn’t have to worry about constantly watching everything. We have this type at our camper because when you are not using them they collapse down for easy storage. To find them click here.

We decided we were going to make our Pizza Pudgy Pie that is always a big hit for all ages. See Pizza Pudgy Pie recipe here. This time we decided to try a cheesy garlic pull apart bread. We go with as easy as we can get when we camp because we want more time enjoying the outdoors and less time doing dishes. We bought the sourdough at the store, you can make it at home prior to leaving if you would like. We bought minced garlic but you can mince your own garlic cloves if you would like as well. The reason why we topped the bread with more cheese is because some of the melted cheese will stick to your foil. Have fun with it and feel free to make changes to suit your family.

  • Wrap in foil to seal. Place on grill or campfire rotating every 10-15 minutes. When cheese is melted remove from fire and open foil.
